Recorded live in late 1994 at 924 Gilman Street by Marshall Stax. Marshall opened the club up to us on a week night the club was not in use, and we paid in with blank tapes and a burrito from Picante down the street.
We sold these at our first few shows for a low cost of $2, all of which was pure profit as the cassettes were all dubbed over random free tapes and covers that were scammed copies from Kinkos. A lot of fidelity was lost to tape degradation, but this is the best remaining recording I’ve been able to find. (Thanks, Galen!)
I’ll admit that it’s fairly embarrassing to listen to some of this. But more than two decades later, I can mostly look at this a fun artifact from five Bay Area kids with a penchant for Mountain Dew, Eazy-E and a plethora of inside jokes.
